1996年10月20日、東京国際センターにおいて開催された「第3回手話に関する国際セミナー」(全日本ろうあ連盟・日本手話研究所外国手話研究部共催)で、JICA研修生として来日した特殊教育学校教師であるマレーシア人男性ろう者テー・キーン・ホウ(Teh Kean Hoe)が講演。

■備考

2002年、「広げよう愛の輪運動基金 ダスキン・アジア太平洋障害者リーダー育成事業」第4期生として、マレーシア人女性ろう者ジェシカ・マーウェー(Jessica MAK WEI-E)(来日時24歳)が来日。

1996年9月-10月、特殊教育学校教師であるマレーシア人男性ろう者テー・キーン・ホウ(Teh Kean Hoe)が、JICA研修生として来日。第3回手話に関する国際セミナー(全日本ろうあ連盟・日本手話研究所外国手話研究部共催、1996年10月20日、東京国際センター)で講演。

1990年代より、JICA研修生としてマレーシア人ろう者が多数来日。
