世界アフリカ言語学会議(World Congress of African Linguistics (WOCAL))は、3年に一度開かれる、アフリカの言語研究に関する国際会議である。2009年から、アフリカの手話言語に関するワークショップが行われている。

歴史
アフリカの手話言語ワークショップの初回は、第6回会議のとき開かれた。(WOCAL6, 2009年8月、ドイツ・ケルンにて)
WOCALの規約は、2009年8月に改定され、手話の地位が正式に認められた。
アフリカの手話言語ワークショップ第2回目は、第7回会議にて行われた。(WOCAL7, 2012年8月、カメルーン・ブエアにて)
