2. ろう者協会やろう者グループは政府に手話の公認を要望していない、なぜならトーゴには国の手話が無い。政府の合意は、ろう学校ではフランス語概念のアメリカ手話を使用せよ、というもの。 (Deaf Association/Deaf Group does not lobby the government for the recognition of the country’s sign language(s), because, there is no national sign language in Togo. The ministerial agreement is for the school for the Deaf to use American Sign Language in French concepts.)
